Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

Tropicana Golf & Country Resort is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to join our team on a full-time basis. Based at our resort in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our members and guests using our aquatic facilities. This role is critical to maintaining our commitment to providing a safe, enjoyable environment for families and guests of all ages. As a Lifeguard, you will be the first line of defence in preventing accidents and responding to emergencies with professionalism and composure.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and prevent accidents by identifying potential hazards and taking necessary precautions.
• Enforce all resort swimming pool rules and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment for all guests
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR when necessary
• Conduct regular safety inspections of aquatic facilities and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to management
• Provide clear safety instructions and guidance to guests regarding proper use of facilities
• Communicate effectively with resort staff to coordinate security and safety protocols
• Prepare and submit daily reports and incident reports to the management for review and further action, where required.
• Keep all rescue equipment and first aid kits well-maintained and readily accessible
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour at all times whilst on duty
• Participate in regular safety training and drills to ensure preparedness for emergencies

What we're looking for

• Current or ability to obtain a recognised Lifeguard certification Safety and Health and Bronze Medal or qualification from an accredited body
• Strong swimming ability and water safety knowledge
• Excellent observational and communication skills
• Physical fitness and ability to respond quickly to emergencies
• Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a lifeguard or similar safety role is advantageous
• Customer service orientation and professional conduct
