Job summary

AIA Hong Kong and Macau is seeking actuarial professionals to assess Hong Kong market life insurance applications. The role focuses on medical underwriting, risk assessment, and adherence to company guidelines, with a need for fluency in English and Chinese.

The candidate will collaborate across functions and may require weekend shifts in an IOI City Mall, Putrajaya setting. The position emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and ongoing development of underwriting expertise in a dynamic insurance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Science, Bioscience, Insurance, or related fields.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; Mandarin/Cantonese ability is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to handle shift work including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Accurately underwrite all products including medical underwriting per guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain high accuracy and continuously improve individual quality scores.
• Meet efficiency and turnaround targets while improving proficiency scores.
• Develop technical proficiency by expanding underwriting scope or limits.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Evaluate medical history, occupational hazards, finances, and insurable interest to accept, modify, or decline risk.
• Collaborate with field force and other functions for decision making.
• Explain and defend underwriting actions.
