Job summary

Hong Leong Assurance Berhad in Klang is seeking an Agency Development Manager to lead the growth and development of the life agency network in Klang and surrounding towns. You will recruit, train, coach and motivate agency leaders, while ensuring compliance and collaboration with operations across channels.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on development of sales activities, with opportunities for mentorship and career progression within a major Malaysian insurer.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the life insurance industry, including market insights, benefits, and exclusions.
• Proficiency in life underwriting and familiarity with legal and compliance issues in the life insurance sector.
• Solid foundation in financial planning.
• Proven people management, training, and public speaking skills.
• Background in teaching/lecturing is an added advantage.
• Experience in sales and marketing.

Responsibilities

• Assist, maintain and develop life agency businesses of the branch and its surrounding towns in accordance with targets and strategies.
• Plan recruitment, training and development of the life division agency force.
• Design and implement training, sales and promotional activities to motivate the agency force and boost sales.
• Develop and sustain business networking to grow via multiple sales channels.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with Operations for life operations matters.
• Develop new areas via networking, roadshows, sites and promotions to recruit leaders.
• Assist and conduct relevant company and industry training such as RFP, product, and ASAS.
