Job summary

KPS-HCM in Malaysia is seeking a regulatory compliance specialist to monitor solar-related rules and advise on impact to projects. You will translate changes from Suruhanjaya Tenaga, SEDA, and other agencies into practical guidance and templates.

You will prepare and track licenses and permits, coordinate with authorities, support bid documentation, and ensure designs and submissions reflect current requirements. You will act as single point of contact with regulators and document engagements.

Responsibilities

• Track and interpret changes to Malaysia’s solar-related requirements (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga, SEDA, Single Buyer, etc.).
• Convert regulatory requirements into practical internal guidance: checklists, standard work instructions, templates, etc.
• Maintain a compliance register: applicable laws, licenses, permits, approvals, conditions, expiry dates, renewals, and etc.
• Prepare, submit, and track all relevant project license, permit and quota applications including required supporting documents till completion or approval.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities and government agencies (e.g., ST, SEDA, MGTC) for documentation required for relevant applicable programmes.
• Support bid/compliance documentation aligned to utility/LSS-related and grid connection requirement.
• Coordinate compliance items to grid interconnection / commissioning: submissions, declarations, test certifications, as-built documentation, and condition precedent to energisation.
• Work closely with engineering & project team to ensure regulatory and utility requirements are embedded in designs, proposals and submissions.
• Act as a professional single point of contact with regulators/authorities between other departments and the client.
• Plan engagement, tracking and proper documentation and filing.
• Any other related tasks assigned.
