Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn. Berhad is seeking a Legal Manager to ensure compliance with applicable laws and to protect the company’s interests in legal matters.
The role involves providing legal advice to management and various departments, developing policies, and overseeing contracts and governance initiatives. You will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, manage the contract lifecycle, and maintain signed agreements.
The legal manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization follows the relevant laws and regulations in its activities, as well as protecting its interests and rights in legal matters.
Provide legal support and advice to the management as well as different departments on legal matters and issues arising from the operational business including but not limited to compliance matters.
Develop policies and manage roll‑out consistent with the company policies including but not limited to carrying out audit and investigations.
Arrange for execution and signing of legal documents, stamping and distribution of contracts and documents to respective parties.
Advise management on Corporate Governance and Compliance issues and the relevant laws and carry out research as and when required.
Provide support and advise the company on identifying the appropriate commercial contracts in accordance with the business needs.
Support the contract lifecycle management within company in terms of drafting, reviewing and negotiating different kinds of commercial contracts for the company with customers, suppliers and any other third parties.
Drafting, analyses, review, negotiate and manage contracts and other legal documents including liaison with the contracting parties.
Maintenance and safekeeping of all signed agreements, contracts and other legal documents.
Identify legal risk in the course of drafting and reviewing legal documents including advice to be given to mitigate such risks.
Liaise with external counsel in connection with Company's litigation portfolio; to initiate legal actions against third parties and to defend legal actions by third parties, as well as coordinating and standardizing legal actions and strategies.
8 years' experience in the following areas: Construction (Corporate/Litigation), Litigation (from legal firms or in-house), or Industrial Relations
LL.B or equivalent degree or experience
Excellent multi-tasking and inter-personal skills to manage issues across the Group.
Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia essential
Proactive in keeping the Group abreast of regulatory and legal developments affecting the Group's business.
Preferred if experienced in managing government-related contracts and familiar with government procurement processes.
Bonus if experienced or knowledgeable in Construction Contracts Management
Bonus if fluent in other languages, e.g. Hindi, Tamil, Mandarin
