Responsibilities

• Lead internal coordination for disputes, timelines, evidence, counsel deliverables, and settlements
• Support corporate deals: NDAs, LOIs, term sheets, due diligence, closings
• Support ongoing commercial contracting: vendor, partnerships, licensing, and tech agreements
• Coordinate corporate filings and governance across Malaysia, Labuan, BVI, Singapore
• Assist KYC/AML onboarding documentation and recordkeeping with compliance
• Manage external counsel and junior legal staff, ensuring quality output
• Develop templates, checklists, trackers, and SOPs to improve processes
• Support fundraising documentation and investor lifecycle documents as needed

Role Overview

• You will be the legal execution lead across a Malaysia-based group building multiple businesses across different industries, including investment-related structures, operating companies, and shared services.
• This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will hit the ground running on an active workload across transactions, contracting, governance, compliance documentation, and ongoing disputes.
• A core part of the job is operating in ambiguity: you will take unfamiliar problems, do deep research independently, come back with clear options and a recommended path, then drive the chosen solution end-to-end.
• You will also coordinate external counsel on retainer (scope, budget, timelines, quality) and manage junior legal support to keep output consistently high.

What You'll Do

• Lead internal coordination for active disputes/litigation matters - timelines, evidence, counsel deliverables, settlement execution
• Support corporate deals and transactions - NDAs, LOIs, term sheets, due diligence coordination, CP trackers, closings, post-close updates
• Support ongoing commercial contracting across current and new business lines - vendor, partnership, services, licensing, and tech agreements
• Coordinate corporate filings and governance with CoSec across relevant jurisdictions (Malaysia / Labuan / BVI / Singapore where applicable)
• Support KYC/AML onboarding documentation and recordkeeping in coordination with compliance
• Manage external counsel (scope, budget, timelines, quality) and manage/QA junior legal staff
• Build and maintain templates, checklists, trackers, and SOPs to clear backlog and prevent recurrence
• Support investment-platform legal work as needed - fundraising documentation, investor lifecycle documents, and vehicles used for raising and deploying capital
