Job summary

A law firm in Malaysia is looking for a qualified legal professional to assist in civil and criminal litigation tasks. Job description
Responsibilities
  • To assist Partners and Lawyers in all aspects, including civil and criminal litigation and trials.
  • Corporate advisory, drafting of legal opinions, pleadings, applications and cause papers for civil litigation, submissions for civil and criminal litigation and other documents.
  • Organising, maintaining, handling and managing files under minimum supervision.
  • Drafting and compiling pre-trial documents in preparation of trial such as bundle of documents, bundle of pleadings, statement of agreed facts etc.
  • Preparing documentation, legal correspondence and other documents.
  • Monitoring work schedule and meeting deadlines.
  • Conducting legal research using online database (Lexis Nexis, CLJ, Westlaw, HeinOnline, etc.).
  • Any other duties assigned by the firm management from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • LL.B (Hons), second class and above.
  • 2 - 5 years experience in corporate and/or litigation / appeal process and filing (especially e-filing).
  • Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).
  • Good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) & Computer literate.
  • Good writing and drafting skills.
  • Flexible to travel for meetings with clients and attending Court.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be willing to be exposed to different areas of law and able to work independently as well as part of team.
  • Willing to learn, committed, proactive with good attitude.

Our law firm has been in operation for around 10 years, and we focus our practice mostly on corporate law, criminal law, criminal defence for white collar crime cases & civil litigation. Our dress code is flexible, except when our lawyers are required to attend meetings with clients and appearing in Court.
