Job summary

Our client, a Malaysian manufacturer headquartered in Muar, Johor, seeks a Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, safety, and cost targets while driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead production schedules, manage teams, implement lean practices, uphold ISO/SIRIM quality standards, and collaborate with maintenance to maximise uptime, with strong ERP/MRP and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5+ years in production management (industry-specific experience preferred).
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MS Office, and production software.
• Leadership, problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and meet production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Monitor daily output and adjust resources (labor, materials, equipment) to meet demand.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Lead, train, and motivate production supervisors and line workers.
• Conduct performance reviews and address productivity or behavioral issues.
• Enforce strict quality control standards (e.g., ISO, SIRIM) and troubleshoot defects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage production budgets and reduce operational costs without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment uptime and preventive maintenance.
• Promote a culture of safety through training, audits, and incident investigations.
