This Senior Equipment Engineer position level requires innovation, leadership and strong technical knowledge in automation, control systems, industrial networks to achieve optimum manufacturing efficiency and sustainability with QMS ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001, IATF16949 and ISO17025 Standards.
The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the installation, qualification, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production operations. This role leads root cause analysis and troubleshooting for equipment-related downtime, drives preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and partners with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Suppliers) to optimize equipment reliability, throughput, and process capability. The ideal candidate brings 3–7 years of hands‑on experience in equipment/process engineering within a regulated or high‑precision manufacturing environment, with a strong working knowledge of equipment qualification and Critical to Quality Output buyoff and Measurement System Analysis (MSA/Gauge R&R).
Liaise with cross functional team from Process Engineering, Production, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, MES team on improving Product/Process Yields, Safety, Quality and Environment & Equipment Management and compliance to QMS ISO9001, IATF16949 and ISO17025, ISO14001, ISO45001 Standards.
Support Plant to Plant equipment transfer and new equipment buyoff/setup.
Support the development and coordination of training for the technician.
Lead a team of technician and provide technical advice for equipment troubleshooting as needed.
Preferable have strong equipment knowledge in majority of equipment such as Wire bond, Die Attach, Molding, Abrasive Blasting Cleaning, Chemical Cleaning, Laser equipment, Photochemical Machining.
Have strong communication skills which able to translate complex technical solutions into practical actions for shopfloor team from operators to management level.
Capable to adapt, resilient and thrives in dynamic-changing environments and responds well to evolving technologies and production demands. Proactive and self-driven when anticipates issues and opportunities rather than reacting to problems.
Continuous improvement, optimization and capability to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, improve OEE, and enhance process reliability with smart manufacturing or I4.0 solution.
Strong capability in OEE, Downtime and PM data collection, analyzing, and interpreting production data to improve OEE efficiency, quality, and uptime.
Emphasize on maintenance prevention, breakthrough improvement, new technologies with TPM features or equivalent.
Owns the measure on Equipment Availability and Equipment Performance Rate and strive cost reduction alternatives.
Measure MTBA and MTBF and provide improvement within timeline given.
Evaluate process and equipment capabilities in order to target areas of improvement.
Ensure equipment easy conversion concept and increase Equipment flexibility and utilization.
Upgrade overall PM system and procedures to improve OEE.
Ensure built-in Safety Ergonomic Features into current/new equipment.
Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.
