Job summary

Lumileds Malaysia is seeking a Lead Reliability Manufacturing Engineer to oversee reliability lab processes, instrumented test automation, and programming for stress tests in Penang. The role focuses on ownership of reliability documentation, data analysis, and continuous improvement of test methods.

You will develop SOPs, drive RCA and SPC initiatives, and collaborate with R&D and reliability operations to align stress test processes with reliability goals.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in reliability, test, or manufacturing.
  • Masters in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Science/Programming preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation, maintenance, and optimization of reliability stress test tools (HAST, HTOL, Temperature Cycling, Burn-in).
  • Develop and refine process parameters to enhance tool performance and product reliability.
  • Troubleshoot tool-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with JEDEC/AEC-Q standards and internal quality systems.

Lead Reliability Manufacturing Engineer (Test Automation & Programming)

Who You Are:

Lead Reliability Manufacturing Engineer need to support in day to day reliability lab processes which includes: Owner of reliability OI documentation, Investigation for any abnormality issue occurs, data analysis, process pFMEA and control plan.

Position Summary:
  1. Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of reliability stress test tools (e.g., HAST, HTOL, Temperature Cycling, Burn-in).
  2. Develop and refine process parameters to enhance tool performance and product reliability.
  3. Troubleshoot tool-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process specifications.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., JEDEC, AEC-Q100) and internal quality systems.
  6. Document tool performance, failures, and process improvements.
  7. Train technicians and operators on proper tool usage, operation, and safety protocols.
  8. Provide ongoing technical support to rel production teams to minimize error.
  9. Analyse processes stress data to identify trends, failure modes, and improvement opportunities.
  10. Collaborate with reliability engineering and rel operation teams to drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  11. Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other data-driven methodologies for process optimization.
  12. Partner with R&D, reliability engineering, and rel operation teams to align stress test processes with reliability goals.
  13. Responsible for Reliability Lab automation system and programming.
