Job summary

Tranglo is seeking a Lead QA Automation Engineer to drive automation strategy and quality engineering across our platform. You will design scalable Playwright-based frameworks, embed automated quality gates in CI/CD, and mentor QA engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will lead automation across web, API, and integration tests, champion shift-left testing, and collaborate with product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to improve release readiness.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of experience in software QA and automation testing.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years in a technical lead or senior automation role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#.
• Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch or scaling enterprise automation platforms.
• Strong understanding of API testing and automation.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating automated testing into Git-based development workflows.
• Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience mentoring or leading QA engineers.

The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks, integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor QA engineers in delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced Agile environment. Role and responsibilities

Automation Strategy & Leadership

• Define and lead the organization’s QA automation strategy, standards, and best practices.
• Drive automation adoption across web, API, and integration testing layers.
• Establish scalable test architecture and reusable automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Define quality gates and release readiness criteria for CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

Test Automation Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks.
• Develop automated functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end‑to‑end test suites.
• Implement API automation testing for microservices and distributed systems.
• Ensure automation stability, reliability, and execution efficiency.
• Improve test execution parallelization and pipeline optimization.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

• Set up and maintain automated test execution pipelines within CI/CD environments.
• Integrate automation into Git‑based workflows and deployment pipelines.
• Manage test reporting, dashboards, trends, and quality metrics.
• Support shift‑left testing and continuous testing initiatives.

Code Quality & Governance

• Conduct PR reviews for automation code and enforce engineering standards.
• Maintain automation coding standards, framework governance, and documentation.
• Drive root cause analysis for production defects and quality issues.
• Improve defect leakage tracking and automation coverage metrics.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and guide QA engineers on automation best practices and technical skills.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, DevOps engineers, and architects.
• Participate in sprint planning, release planning, and technical design discussions.
• Lead proof‑of‑concepts and R&D initiatives for new testing tools and technologies.

Bonus / Preferred Skills

• Performance testing using k6 or JMeter
• Security testing knowledge including OWASP Top 10, ZAP, or Burp Suite
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Azure Monitor, or Datadog
• Experience testing cloud-native or microservices‑based systems
• Experience with Kafka or event‑driven architectures
• Exposure to containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with AI‑assisted testing tools or AI coding assistants
• Knowledge of fintech, payment systems, or regulated environments
