Lead Production Planner: Capacity, Inventory & NPI

Job summary

MKS Instruments in Malaysia, Batu Kawan (Penang) invites applications for a Senior Production Planner to collaborate with Master Scheduler, Procurement, Production, Warehouse and Engineering teams to optimize production schedules, capacity and material availability to meet shipment commitments.

You will monitor production performance, manage inventory levels, coordinate changes and NPI, and prepare daily status updates plus weekly reports for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, inventory management, SAP systems and material planning.
• Proven experience working closely with Master Scheduling, Procurement, and Production teams to execute production plans.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to analyze data and prepare management reports.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production performance, identify risks such as material shortages or capacity constraints and drive timely recovery actions.
• Manage inventory to maintain optimal stock levels while supporting production and customer delivery requirements.
• Coordinate engineering changes, New Product Introduction (NPI), and schedule adjustments to minimize operational impact.
• Prepare and communicate daily production status updates and weekly production and inventory reports to management.
• Analyze planning and inventory data to improve production efficiency, delivery performance and inventory health.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support cross-functional projects to enhance planning processes.
