Job summary

DayOne Data Center seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the Thermal Environment for hyperscale facilities across Malaysia. You will lead mechanical life-support systems, ensuring chillers, cooling towers, and HVAC units perform reliably to keep our services online.

You will manage a 24/7 operations team, drive preventative maintenance programs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while supporting capacity growth and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in data centers.
• Experience leading technical teams in 24/7 operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineers and technicians, mentoring the team and coordinating 24/7 shift handovers.
• Oversee HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, and liquid cooling systems to ensure reliability.
• Design and run preventative and corrective maintenance programs with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
• Lead troubleshooting and coordinate with other engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
• Contribute to strategy and budget planning to improve performance and growth.
