Job summary

SM2 Consulting's client, a market leading data center infrastructure solutions provider, seeks an experienced Lead Engineer to lead the engineering and delivery of prefabricated data center modules within a manufacturing environment. You will coordinate across electrical, mechanical, controls and CAD to ensure production-ready, compliant designs and on-schedule delivery.

You will oversee FAT, SOO, test procedures, review drawings, manage risks, and drive continuous improvements with Production,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of relevant engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Experience with prefabricated data center modules is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, cooling systems and modular solutions.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and FAT.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams in developing and reviewing complete IFC drawing packages across electrical, mechanical, controls, HVAC and system layouts.
• Review and validate Sequence of Operations (SOO) and commissioning documentation.
• Oversee FAT documentation, test procedures, load-bank plans and integrated system validation.
• Identify and resolve technical clashes and integration issues during design and production stages.
• Conduct build-readiness reviews with Production, Quality, HSE and Supply Chain teams.
• Review vendor drawings to ensure interface and serviceability requirements are met.
• Manage engineering resources, priorities and risks to meet production milestones.
• Drive post-project reviews and continuous improvements in manufacturability, reliability and cost.
• Coach and support engineers in design quality and factory integration.

Our client is a market leading data center infrastructure solutions provider and they are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to support the engineering and delivery of prefabricated data center modules within a manufacturing environment.

This role will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across electrical, mechanical, controls and CAD, ensuring designs are production-ready, technically compliant and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams in developing and reviewing complete IFC drawing packages, including electrical, mechanical, controls, HVAC and system layouts

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Approximately 5-7 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or factory operations
• Experience with prefabricated modules, data center equipment, power distribution or related industrial systems is preferred
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, cooling systems and integrated modular solutions
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and BOMs, as well as leading Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
• Strong project coordination, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and schedule
• Willingness to travel internationally approximately 10%
