Job summary

Coherent Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineering leader to maintain and improve tooling for die attach, wire bonders, welders, ovens and testers at the Ipoh site. You will lead a team of technicians, drive cost reductions, set up new equipment, and ensure facilities support for new lines.

Collaborate with process and production engineers to enhance yield and UPH while complying with ISO standards. Familiarity with fiber-optic/laser products and ability to read schematics and mechanical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronic / Electrical / Mechatronic/ Electromechanical) or equivalent.
• Experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
• Familiar with product development processes and releasing products to production.
• Able to read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with fiber-optic/laser products.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve equipment for die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, testers.
• Lead a group of technicians.
• Identify and implement cost reduction activities.
• Set up and buy-off new equipment.
• Ensure facilities are ready for new equipment setups.
• Liaise with equipment vendors to improve tool capability.
• Provide feedback on equipment and material issues and offer solutions.
• Collaborate with process engineers on documentation for assembly line processes and equipment.
• Improve yield and UPH with production team; support cost reduction.
• Adhere to ISO requirements and company policies; drive continual improvement.
• Practice risk-based thinking in planning and execution.
• Direct hands-on operations with equipment.
