Job summary

The role requires mentorship, strong leadership, and excellent communication within a fast-paced studio environment. Experience with Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Designer, and game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a 3D environment artist with a strong portfolio.
• Proficient in Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Designer.
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and lighting.
• Experience creating natural and hard-surface environments.
• Excellent texturing and shading with attention to detail.
• Able to communicate and collaborate effectively.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Leadership experience to mentor junior artists.
• Passion for gaming and environment design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 3D environment artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work.
• Create detailed and visually compelling 3D environments, including modeling, texturing, and lighting.
• Collaborate with the art director, level designers, and other team members to develop and maintain the artistic vision for environments.
• Ensure that all environment assets meet technical requirements and are optimized for performance.
• Oversee the entire environment creation pipeline, from initial concept to final implementation in the game engine.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continually improve the quality and efficiency of environment production.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to environment creation and implementation.
• Participate in project planning and provide estimates for environment-related tasks.
