PROTON is seeking a Lead Engineer for CAE (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) to lead analysis and simulation activities across vehicle levels. You will develop and validate CAE models, review results, and propose design improvements while guiding a team of engineers.
You will coordinate correlation with Testing and other teams, drive optimisation to balance performance and cost, and push for new CAE methodologies and automation to meet project timelines and quality targets.
Lead and manage CAE analysis and simulation activities for vehicle development at component, sub-system and complete vehicle levels.
Develop and review CAE models, boundary conditions and simulation results to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Analyse CAE results, identify engineering issues and recommend design improvements and effective countermeasures.
Drive CAE optimisation activities to achieve the required balance of performance, weight and cost.
Lead and coordinate CAE correlation and physical validation activities with Testing and other engineering teams.
Lead and guide a team of engineers, providing technical direction, coaching and support in CAE activities.
Monitor CAE project schedules and deliverables to ensure completion according to project timelines and quality requirements.
Present technical findings, recommendations and countermeasures to management and cross-functional teams.
Drive continuous improvement through new CAE methodologies, automation, scripting and process enhancement.
Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, SOPs and Work Instructions.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in CAE, simulation or automotive engineering.
Proficient in CAE/FEA tools such as LS-DYNA, HyperWorks, ANSYS, Radioss or equivalent.
Good knowledge of vehicle structure, materials, testing and validation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
Good communication, presentation and cross-functional coordination skills.
Able to lead a team, manage technical activities and provide guidance to engineers.
Proactive, independent and able to drive projects to meet timelines and deliverables.
