Job summary

Fluor Daniel International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive all electrical activities on complex facilities projects in Malaysia. You will provide technical leadership for HV/LV power distribution, substation and protection systems, and coordinate interfaces across civil, structural, mechanical, and process teams to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience with HV/LV distribution.
  • PEng registration preferred; ST competency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all electrical engineering activities for the project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, standards and contractual requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership for HV and LV power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, protection systems, grounding, lighting, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, vendor documents, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with civil, structural, mechanical, process, and commissioning disciplines to support efficient project execution.
  • Monitor contractor performance for quality, schedule, testing, commissioning, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support technical evaluations, risk management, change control, and resolution of electrical engineering issues.
  • Participate in construction, testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities to ensure successful delivery of electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical engineering, including HV and LV power distribution systems.
  • Preferably possess ST (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) recognised competency appropriate to the role.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, data centre, semiconductor, or similar complex facilities.
  • PMC/Owner's Engineer experience and semiconductor project experience will be an added advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, protection systems, and power system integration.
  • Professional Engineer (PEng) registration is preferred.
