Job summary

MY5 Trane Malaysia S & S SDN. BHD. is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to support data centre cooling systems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and lead a team of technicians.

The role is based on-site in Johor Bahru with extended hours as needed, delivering reliable cooling performance for critical facilities. You will diagnose rapidly, coordinate with customers and vendors, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience, preferably supporting data centre operations or mission-critical cooling systems.
• Strong technical expertise in chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, HVAC system controls, and cooling optimization.
• Experience engaging with data centre customers and managing customer expectations in a high-demand environment.
• Willingness to work long hours, including after-hours support when required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC systems, including data centre cooling solutions and mission-critical equipment.
• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers, and associated HVAC infrastructure.
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimization for HVAC and data centre cooling systems.
• Lead and supervise technicians or subcontractors to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned tasks.
• Communicate with data centre customers to coordinate work schedules, address concerns, provide updates, and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Support planning, documentation, and reporting for maintenance schedules and operational activities.
• Work closely with vendors and contractors for job coordination and materials sourcing.
• Ensure all work follows relevant EHS standards and internal quality requirements.
• Respond to urgent or unplanned maintenance needs; willingness to work extended or irregular hours as required by data centre operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
