Qualifications

Role Purpose:

The Lead, Business Strategy & Development develops and implements Setel’s strategic direction through market analysis, internal company analysis and portfolio management in order to facilitate value‑based decision making such as investment and project decisions.

In this role you will:

• Lead market studies to assess industry trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for differentiation.
• Evaluate potential business development opportunities, strategic ventures, and partnerships for feasibility and alignment.
• Identify and recommend new business opportunities to sustain and accelerate Setel’s growth trajectory.
• Facilitate the incubation and development of MVPs to validate concepts and de‑risk opportunities.
• Manage a portfolio of business opportunities, ensuring effective prioritization, monitoring, and alignment with strategic goals.
• Lead business case development and conduct financial and strategic analyses to support investment decisions.
• Coach and mentor project teams during MVP incubation to ensure delivery quality and scalability.
• Design and facilitate strategy and portfolio discussions with Management to drive alignment and clarity.
• Coordinate periodic and ad‑hoc updates, preparing high‑quality discussion materials and analyses to enable informed Management decisions.

You're a great fit if you have:

• A degree in accounting & finance, corporate finance, economics, maths and statistics.
• Minimum 8 years working experience in strategy related roles.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, business analysis, and execution of growth initiatives.
• Experience in developing business cases, conducting financial modelling, and portfolio management.
• Prior exposure to cross‑functional projects, partnerships, or joint ventures in technology, fintech, or digital businesses would be an added advantage.
