Job summary

ABB in Johor Bahru is seeking an Automation Engineer to deliver automation and power management systems for offshore projects. You will execute tasks on small to medium projects, applying design concepts to improve outcomes and drive improvements.

The role reports to the Automation Engineering Manager and sits in the Offshore Solutions division. You will review schematics, design PMS networks, and integrate LV/HV equipment, using protocols like Modbus and Profinet, in a multi-cultural

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology with a major in Electrical or Electronics.
Experience on Power or Oil & Gas projects.
Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Reviewing and interpreting schematics for power management systems (PMS).
Designing communication networks and schemes for PMS using industrial protocols such as RSTP, HSR, PRP, and MRP.
Engineering PMS applications for load shedding, load sharing, Generator Control and synchronization.
Engineering IEC 61850-based systems (MMS and GOOSE).
Integration of LV/HV switchgear equipment using protocols like Modbus, Profibus, Profinet.
Diagnostics and troubleshooting communication networks.
