Job summary

Hilton Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Laundry Supervisor to lead the laundry team, oversee shift operations and maintain high quality and efficiency across all laundry processes. You will train staff, ensure proper chemical usage, manage inventory, and uphold Hilton standards for guest laundry handling and care.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with the ability to work under physical and mental pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Degree is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in the same position in a 5-star international branded hotel or comparable industry.
• Good communication, organizational and coordination skills.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Able to work under physical and mental pressure.
• Knowledgeable of all areas in the laundry operation such as washing, spotting, starching, dry-cleaning, pressing and machine operation.
• Computer literacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the laundry section during your shift.
• Inspect production methods and procedures for productivity.
• Assist guests with urgent laundry requests.
• Ensure guest items are treated carefully to minimize damages.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment operation for laundry operations.
• Apply chemicals properly to keep costs low and quality high.

• Report faulty equipment to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and Engineering.
• Ensure guest laundry charges are posted correctly.
• Confer with assistants and supervisors on production and personnel problems.
• Train team members according to procedures and conduct training meetings.
• Establish records for production standards and training techniques.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned.

The Laundry Supervisor directs and supervises team members on all operations in the department. He / she reports necessary machine repairs, supplies used or required, variations in water temperature, maintains schedules and trains new team members in line with Hilton and the hotel policies and procedures.

As the Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Responsible for the operation of the laundry section during your shift.

• Inspect entire area on productive methods and procedures used.

• Assist guests with urgent laundry requests.

• Ensure that all guests’ items are treated carefully to minimize any damages.

• Thorough and up-to-date knowledge on operating all equipment for laundry operations.

• Apply for laundry goods and ensure chemicals etc. are used properly, and in correct quantities, to avoid accidents and to keep costs low and quality high.

• Maintain quality control for in-house linen and uniforms.

• Report promptly faulty equipment to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and Executive Housekeeper or Engineering department.

• Ensure guest laundry charges are posted correctly and promptly.

• Confer with assistants and supervisors on production and personnel problems.

• Train team members according to established procedures, disseminate information and assignments, conduct training meetings to discuss problems and future plans.

• Establish records for production standards and training techniques.

• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Adhere by the hotel’s policies and procedures, Hilton code of business conduct and the hotel’s team member handbook, security and emergency policies and procedures.
