Job summary

Grand Built Construction Company in Shah Alam, Selangor, is seeking a qualified Surveyor to conduct topographical, boundary, and construction surveys across projects. You will lead surveying activities, establish control points, and ensure accurate layouts in a fast-paced construction environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, proficiency with surveying equipment and AutoCAD, and strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
• 3–5 years construction surveying experience.
• Experience in building or high-rise residential projects preferred.
• Proficient with surveying equipment and data processing.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and survey data processing software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographical, boundary, layout, and construction surveys on project sites.
• Lead surveying activities, including establishing control points, benchmarks, setting-out, and construction surveys.
• Perform field measurements and collect survey data using modern surveying instruments and equipment.
• Interpret drawings to support construction activities.
• Establish and maintain site control points and benchmarks for accurate reference.
• Collaborate with site engineers and project teams to ensure correct positioning and layouts.
• Monitor and verify works against drawings, specs, and data.
• Prepare survey maps, drawings, reports, and site sketches.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies between design drawings and actual site conditions.
• Conduct as-built surveys upon project completion.
• Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the proper functioning of surveying instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all survey activities and findings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and workplace safety regulations.
• Be willing to work on project sites throughout Selangor and other locations as required.
• Travel to project sites as necessary.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Experience in building or high-rise residential projects is highly preferred.
• Proficient in surveying equipment, survey data processing, and construction surveying techniques.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and survey data processing software.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams.
• Well-organized with excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
