Job summary

KLK Alami Edible Oils Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Assurance and Control Supervisor to oversee daily laboratory operations, ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards, and mentor lab staff. You will coordinate sampling with production and logistics, verify instrument calibration, and safeguard all samples and COAs.

The position requires a Diploma in Science or related field with at least 3 years in a laboratory setting and supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in laboratory.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Exposure to ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Kosher and Halal is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily laboratory activities are carried out safely and in accordance with SOPs and regulations.
• Inspect and analyze incoming materials, in-process materials, final products and samples per Quality Control Plan.
• Mentor and train laboratory technicians; supervise QAQC roles in refinery, fractionation, packing plant and jerrycan blowing plant.
• Review test results and test reports timely and accurately; investigate abnormal results and report to Superior.
• Liaise with Production, Warehouse or Logistics for sampling or resampling; inspect storage tanks and road/ISO tankers as required.
• Ensure instrument verification/calibration is carried out as planned; monitor calibration status and report faults.
• Keep retained samples and documents (e.g., COA) properly stored.
• Plan shift schedules and ensure sufficient manpower for daily operations; perform stock counts of lab consumables and chemicals; reorder as needed.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in the laboratory at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.

Job description

Overall responsible to ensure daily laboratory activities is carried out in safe manner, and follow all the standard operating procedure, rules and regulation.

Responsible to ensure all inspection and analysis for incoming material, in-process material, final product and other additional samples carried out according to Quality Control Plan, standard test method.

Mentor and train laboratory technicians.

Check and review test results/test report in timely and accurate manner, both physical records and records maintain in software systems (e.g., instrument, SAP etc.). Investigate abnormal result/trending and report to Superior on timely manner.

Liaising with Production, Warehouse or Logistics on necessary sampling or resampling when required. Perform storage tank and road tanker/ISO tanker inspection when required.

Ensure lab instrument verification/calibration is carried out according to plan, and ensure proper upkeep of all instruments. Perform inspection on instrument calibration status routinely and report to superior when instrument found faulty or calibration is due.

Ensure all retained samples and document (e.g., COA) are being kept properly.

Responsible for shift schedule planning and ensure sufficient manpower resources to manage daily routine.

Perform stock count for all lab consumables, gas cylinders and chemicals stock sufficient for routine operation, and perform for reorder when stock depleted.

Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in laboratory at all times.

Supervise and perform QAQC roles in refinery, fractionation, packing plant and jerrycan blowing plant.

To perform other related duties assigned or requested by the Management from time to time.

Job Success Requirements

Minimum Diploma in Science or related field.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in laboratory. Previous experience is supervisory role is preferred.

Exposure to ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Kosher and Halal will be an added advantage.
