Job summary

East Coast Capital Management, based in Labuan, seeks a hands-on junior trading assistant to support global market activities and daily trading operations. You will work closely with the investment team in Australia, assisting with trade execution, monitoring, and reporting.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Finance or related fields, 2-3 years in trading or financial services, and strong numerical accuracy. Excel skills and proficiency in trading platforms are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Accounting or a related discipline
• 2-3 years of experience in trading, investment, brokerage, banking or financial services
• Basic understanding of financial markets and trading concepts
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Support the group's trading activities across global financial markets. This is a hands-on junior role involving trade execution, market monitoring, position checking and daily trading operations, working closely with the investment team in Australia.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Monitor global financial markets and trading activities

Assist with the execution of trades based on approved trading instructions

Monitor orders, positions, exposures and account activity

Perform daily checks and reconciliation of trades and positions

Maintain accurate trading records and reports

Monitor market movements and highlight significant events to the investment team

Follow established trading, risk and operational procedures

Job Requirements:

Possess a Diploma or Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Accounting or a related discipline

2-3 years of experience in trading, investment, brokerage, banking or financial services

Basic understanding of financial markets and trading concepts

Good command of written and spoken English

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail

Comfortable working with confidential company and trading information

Willing to work according to global market hours when required

Experience or knowledge of futures, options, commodities, FX or equity markets

Familiarity with trading platforms or financial market data platforms

Exposure to systematic or algorithmic trading

Basic knowledge of Python, SQL or other data tools

Previous experience in financial services
