Job summary

Pantech Galvanising Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to implement safety and health procedures, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and lead risk assessments. You will train employees and support EMS improvements.

The role includes coordinating safety inspections of emergency equipment, ensuring compliance with Environmental Quality Act 1974, and reporting EMS performance to top management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Environmental/Health/Safety
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safety & health procedures and conduct safety audits.
• Identify, investigate and report causes of incidents/accidents and conduct risk assessments; facilitate employee training.
• Secretary in the minutes of safety & health committee meetings.
• Conduct safety inspections of emergency equipment such as firefighting equipment & first aid facilities.
• Responsible for preventing or reducing environmental risks and formulating environmental protections and procedures.
• Comply with Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 and EMS requirements; report EMS performance to top management.

• Legislation applicable to the Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974.
• Report the performance of the environmental management system to top management as a basis for EMS improvement.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• At least 1 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
