Job summary

Turbo Asia Machinery Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Junior Project Engineer to manage rotating equipment projects at power plants and refineries. You will coordinate with OEMs, engineers and contractors, travel to client sites and deliver on project milestones.

The role requires a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 2–3 years of relevant experience, knowledge of power plant and oil & gas sectors, and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Relevant knowledge and experience in Power Plant and/or Oil & Gas industry preferred.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage, handle and resolve technical issues related to rotating equipment at customer sites.
• Coordinate with OEMs and local staff to provide products and services.
• Oversee small to medium projects with internal teams, subcontractors and clients.
• Travel to and perform hands-on work at customer sites regularly.
• Perform any tasks as assigned by supervisor, including non-sales admin duties.

Job description

The Junior Project Engineer is responsible for managing, handling and resolving all technical issues related to rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, steam turbines, hydraulic coupling) installed at customer sites in power plants, refineries, petrochemicals and oil & gas facilities.

Key responsibilities

Work closely with original equipment manufacturer/OEM and local technical staff members to provide products, solutions and services to existing and potential customers

Coordinate and manage small to medium sized projects which may involve other stakeholders (internal team, subcontractors, suppliers, clients)

Work independently with minimum supervision and as a team to realize targets and objectives

Travel to and perform hands-on work at customer sites on a regular basis

Perform any task as assigned by the superior, including non-sales administrative duties

About you

Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required

2-3 years or more of relevant experience preferred

Relevant knowledge and experience in the Power Plant and/or Oil & Gas industry preferred

Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English

Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Highly organized, motivated, detail-oriented

Able to work independently with excellent time-management skills
