Job summary

Weir Group in Batu Caves, Malaysia is seeking a Production Planner to manage daily schedules for PU and rubber-lining products. You will coordinate with Procurement and oversee material availability to meet production demand.

The role requires a degree or technical apprenticeship, experience in production planning, and strong communication within cross-functional teams. SAP experience is an advantage; on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical apprenticeship.
• Experience in production planning, preferably in automotive, metal, or rubber industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Production Planning: Manage daily production schedules and planning activities for Polyurethane (PU) and rubber-lining products, ensuring timely supply to customers at specified quantities.
• Material Coordination: Monitor SAP-generated material requirements, review and clear planning exceptions, and coordinate with Procurement to ensure material availability aligns with production needs.
• Operational Communication: Act as the operational bridge between Production and Procurement by communicating daily plans, rescheduling orders based on priorities, and supporting urgent customer requests through schedule adjustments.
• Team Collaboration: Participate actively in daily operational and war-room meetings to align production plans with business needs and respond promptly to changing situations.
• Performance Success: Maintain high delivery performance with minimal overdue orders, contributing to high service level standards and operational efficiency.
