Job summary

Amethyst Partners, a Kuala Lumpur-based international fund administration firm, is seeking a Junior Fund Accountant to join our finance team. You will support daily NAV calculations, reconcile multiple accounts, and assist in preparing financial statements and audit schedules.

Fresh graduates are welcome, with training provided. You will work under tight deadlines, collaborate with offshore partners, and contribute to process improvements while developing your skills in fund structures,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• 1 year of Fund accounting experience is preferred; fresh graduates may apply.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Team player able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Good understanding of complex investment products, performance fee calculations, fund structures, side pockets and distribution.
• Preparation and review of daily/monthly NAV calculation in a fast-paced environment with strict deadline
• Reconcile various accounts and review reconciliations from offshore partners
• Assist in coaching and developing junior team members
• Liaison with auditors and preparation of financial statements
• Respond promptly to client requests; escalate operational deficiencies and suggest mitigations
• Participate in ad hoc projects

Job description

Our client is an international fund administration firm with a strong track region in the region. Due to expansion of business, they are looking for Junior Fund Accountants and the role is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Key responsibilities:

• Good understanding of complex investment products, performance fee calculations, various fund structures, side pockets and distribution
• Preparation and review of daily/monthly NAV calculation in an fast-paced environment with strict deadline
• Reconcile various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by offshore partners, promptly researching and correcting any variances
• Periodic review of fund documents, operating memorandum and pricing policy
• Liaison with auditors, including preparation of financial statements and audit support schedule
• Assist in coaching and developing junior team members for their individual development and for the overall benefit of the team. In so doing, foster and maintain strong team spirit and a healthy working atmosphere
• Ensure timely response to client requests in standard and non-standard situation
• Able to escalate in the event of any operational control deficiency and provide suggestion to mitigate such risks
• Participation in ad hoc projects

Key requirements:

• Minimum 1 years of Fund Accounting experience, traditional/hedge fund exposure is an advantage
