Job summary

Sweetmag is seeking a Junior Digital Designer (AI-Native) to design for the web and bring designs to live pages on Shopify, WordPress, or Magento Page Builder.

You will move from Figma mockups to web pages, using AI as a core part of your workflow to accelerate ideation and asset creation. The role focuses on web/e-commerce layouts and collaboration with developers and marketers.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of design experience (agency, in-house, or strong freelance/internship work)
• Solid Figma skills - components, auto layout, and organised files
• Demonstrated use of AI tools in your design workflow
• Hands-on experience with at least one page builder (Shopify theme editor, PageFly, Elementor, Gutenberg, Magento Page Builder, or similar)
• A good eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy on web/e-commerce contexts
• Able to work onsite in KL/Selangor

We're not looking for someone who only produces posters, logos, or social media artwork. We're looking for a new breed of designer - one who designsfor the web, builds what they design, and usesAI as a core part of their workflow, not an afterthought.

If you've been using ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, or Firefly to work faster and better - and you can take a design from Figma mockup all the way to a live page on Shopify or WordPress - we want to talk to you.

Sweetmag is a Malaysian digital agency specialising in e-commerce. We build and grow online stores onShopify, Magento / Adobe Commerce, and WordPress for brands across Malaysia and the region. You'll work alongside developers, marketers, and project managers on real client projects from day one.

What you’ll do

• Design website mockups in Figma - landing pages, campaign pages, and content pages for e-commerce brands, using AI tools to accelerate ideation, generate visual assets, and explore layout directions faster.
• Build content pages using page builders - once our developers complete a site, you take over: assembling promotional pages, product landing pages, and campaign content directly in Shopify (theme editor / PageFly / Shogun), WordPress (Elementor / Gutenberg), or Magento Page Builder. No coding required - but you must be comfortable working inside these platforms.
• Use AI to raise quality and speed - image generation and cleanup, copy drafting with the marketing team, resizing and adapting assets across channels, and continuously finding better ways to work.
• Prepare web-ready assets - banners, product visuals, and campaign graphics that are properly sized, optimised, and consistent across desktop and mobile.
• Collaborate with developers and marketers - hand off designs cleanly, understand basic web constraints (responsive layouts, image weights, above-the-fold), and iterate based on real client feedback.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

• 1-2 years of design experience (agency, in-house, or strong freelance/internship work - fresh grads with an exceptional portfolio are welcome to apply)
• SolidFigmaskills - components, auto layout, and organised files
• Demonstrated use ofAI tools in your design workflow - be ready to show us how you use them, not just name-drop them
• Hands-on experience with at least onepage builder (Shopify theme editor, PageFly, Elementor, Gutenberg, Magento Page Builder, or similar) - or the aptitude and eagerness to master them quickly
• A good eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy onweb/e-commerce contexts
• Able to work onsite in KL/Selangor

Nice-to-haves

• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (enough to tweak, not to build)
• Familiarity with e-commerce - product pages, promotions, conversion-focused layouts
• Motion/GIF or short-form video editing skills
• Experience preparing assets for marketplaces or ad channels (Meta, Google, Shopee, Lazada)
