Job summary

BioAsia Worldwide Sdn Bhd invites applications for a Junior R&D/QAQC Chemist based in Lumut, Perak. You will prepare test solutions, run tests, and maintain records in a lab while supporting pilot plant production and formulation adjustments.

You will assist in stability testing, characterisation of compounds, and ensure GMP/ISO standards are met, with a focus on quality and compliance, in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of GMP and ISO 9001:2015 requirements is an advantage.
• Knowledge of soap and cosmetic chemistry is an advantage.
• EPF, SOCSO, EIS, Medical Insurance, all gazetted public holidays observed, annual leave up to 16 days/year

Responsibilities

• Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents to perform routine and ad hoc tests
• Conduct test procedures and create and maintain detailed and accurate records
• Troubleshoot off-specification test results
• Conduct accelerated and long-term stability testing
• Determine chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds
• Maintain proper instrument calibration to meet GMP/ISO certification
• Produce lab samples using lab pilot plant according to formulation and adjust formula as per feedback
• Research and experiment with raw materials, additives, and fragrances to improve product quality and performance
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace and ensure safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials
• Develop and implement QAQC procedures to ensure consistency and compliance to specification standards

Job description

This is a hybrid R&D and QAQC Chemist position based in Lumut, Perak. You will work in a lab setting preparing test solutions, compounds, and reagents to perform routine and ad hoc tests, conducting test procedures, and creating and maintaining detailed and accurate records. You will also be involved in production of lab samples using lab pilot plant according to formulation, research and experimentation with raw materials, additives, and fragrances to improve product quality and performance, and monitoring production activities to ensure procedures are followed according to SOP and compliance to specification standards. This is a JUNIOR role.
