Job summary

Sumisaujana TCM Chemicals Sdn Bhd is seeking a Chemist to execute laboratory work, assist R&D and QA/QC testing in line with SSTCM standards and current work instructions. You will support senior technologists on technical projects and ensure compliance with company policies, quality management, and safety regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related fields, and at least 2 years' experience; fresh graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Engineering (Chemical) or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 year relevant working experience preferred; fresh graduates will be considered based on suitability.
• Must be a Registered Chemist with Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM).

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory work, R&D and QA/QC testing as per SSTCM standard and/or in accordance with up-to-date work instruction.
• Execute technical project assigned with supervision of Senior R&D Technologist/ Senior QC Technologist/Chemist.
• Strict adhere to company policies and in house rules.
• To meet all quality management and HSE policies and regulations.
• To meet all safety guidelines and zero tolerance to non-conformances.
• To ensure that laboratory safety rules & practices are strictly being adhered to at all times.
• To participate in all safety program to build awareness and culture on safety.
• To assist Senior R&D Technologist/ Senior QC Technologist/Chemist for the assigned task and ensure full compliance and adherence to minimum standard guideline for all report and documentation released from projects.
• To assist Senior R&D Technologist/ Senior QC Technologist/Chemist to formulates, follow, and update ISO components including but not limited to instructions, procedures, work Instructions, processes, record, tool certification and/or calibration, and quality testing and reporting.
• Ensure that laboratory equipment is cleaned, maintained, and calibrated accordingly.
• Maintain laboratory clean neat organized manner with correct record keeping for stored products, wastes, and recycled materials.
• To ensure minimum stock level of chemicals inventory in are in sufficient quantity for technical services consumption.
• Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed by Senior R&D Technologist/ Senior QC Technologist/ Chemist.
• To assist projects and where required work in collaboration with other departments.
