Job summary

Oriental Coffee International Sdn Bhd (Retail) in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a diligent Kitchen Assistant to master basic cooking methods, prepare ingredients daily, and ensure proper storage.

You will maintain food safety standards, clean the kitchen and equipment, and follow the Head Chef's directions in a fast-paced team environment. Weekend and shift work required. We offer meals, training, attendance allowances and a competitive bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Stands ready to perform basic cooking methods and food prep.
• Able to work weekends and shifts in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Master basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.
• Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.
• Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.
• Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.
• To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.
• To always maintain food safety standard.
• Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when handling them.
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.
