Job summary

Netmedias Leashares Sdn Bhd (Formerly known as Puretech Global Sdn. Bhd.) is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to build, test, and maintain backend systems, APIs, and databases. Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Experience with Python and MySQL.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON and Git.
• Ability to use AI tools for coding, debugging and testing, and check the result.
• Laravel (PHP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and enhance backend systems, APIs, databases, and integrations to support business and product requirements.
• Support cloud-based applications and infrastructure on AWS, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Frontend, Business Development, Operations, and other stakeholders on system development and third-party integrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, bugs, and performance problems while supporting continuous product improvement.
• Develop and deploy new features, automation, and internal tools to improve operational efficiency and business processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and AI technologies to improve coding, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, system monitoring, and overall development efficiency.
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI capabilities and automation into existing systems, products, and development workflows.
• Maintain good coding standards, technical documentation, and proper knowledge handover.
• Continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies, AI capabilities, development practices, and business requirements.
