Job summary

Asia Marine Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced accounting professional to join our finance team in Malaysia. The role covers general accounting duties, financial reporting, tax compliance, and SST compliance.

You will record journal entries, assist in closings, and support audits. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 4–5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Familiar with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn and grow.
• Possess working experience and familiarity with SST compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accounting (General Duties): Help record manual journal entries, including depreciation and other adjustments.
• Closing: Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Balance Sheet Review: Inventory reconciliation and aging analysis; AR/AP reconciliation.
• Tax: Review and prepare tax documents; coordinate with external tax consultants; maintain records.
• SST: Handle SST compliance independently.
• Financial Reports: Prepare financial statements per standards and maintain records.
• Audit Support: Provide documents during internal or external audits.
• Compliance: Follow and improve accounting and tax SOPs.
• ERP Data Accuracy: Ensure correct data entry and data accuracy in ERP.

Balance Sheet Review:

Help with inventory reconciliation, and support aging analysis and reconciliation for AR (accounts receivable) and AP (accounts payable).

Tax:

Assist in reviewing and preparing tax documents. Work with external tax consultants to ensure tax filings are done correctly and on time, and maintain proper tax records.

Deal with SST independently

Financial Reports:

Help prepare financial statements according to the required accounting standards, and ensure proper record keeping.

Audit Support:

Provide documents and information needed during internal or external audits.

Compliance:

Follow existing accounting and tax SOPs, and help improve them when needed.

ERP Data Accuracy:

Ensure correct data entry and help maintain data accuracy in the ERP system.
