Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a finance professional to support cost accounting, budgeting and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. You will handle cost variance analysis and work with production, procurement and supply chain teams to drive financial performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Financial Management with 2–4 years of experience; CPA/ACCA/CIMA/MIA are preferred. Strong Excel and ERP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Management or related field.
• 2–4 years of executive-level accounting/finance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing industry preferred; audit firm experience also considered.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Familiar with manufacturing costing (raw materials, labor, overhead).
• Knowledge of Malaysian taxation (CIT, SST, customs duties) advantageous.
• Proficient in accounting/ERP systems such as SQL Accounting and Kingdee.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or MIA are preferred.
• Good analytical, communication, coordination and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering and preparing financial data for planning and objectives.
• Monitor tax updates and industry trends for management review.
• Handle day-to-day manufacturing cost accounting (materials, labour, overheads).
• Prepare cost variance analyses and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitor monthly budget performance.
• Compile data for forecasting and management reports.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Analyze metrics including gross profit, inventory turnover and capacity utilization.
• Monitor daily cash flow for production operations.
• Support tax compliance (CIT, SST, customs duties) and tax submissions.
• Collaborate with production, procurement and supply chain teams for costing support.

• Handle day-to-day manufacturing cost accounting, including raw materials, labour, overheads, and other production costs.
• Prepare regular cost variance analysis and identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and monitor monthly departmental budget performance.
• Compile financial data and supporting information for regular forecasting and management reports.
• Prepare timely monthly and quarterly financial statements, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Prepare and analyse key financial and operational metrics, including gross profit margin, inventory turnover, and capacity utilization.
• Monitor daily cash flow movements to ensure sufficient funds for normal production operations.
• Prepare supporting documents for Malaysian tax compliance, including Corporate Income Tax, SST, and customs duties, and assist with tax submissions.
• Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to provide financial and costing support.
