Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc in Malaysia is hiring Java Developers (Full Stack) to build backend features in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot and frontends in Angular or React. You will work on scoped features from the database to the user interface and learn from experienced engineers through code reviews and pairing.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers in Scrum or Kanban teams, and gain exposure to Azure or AWS deployments, Kafka messaging, and modern web technologies.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java (or Kotlin) with Spring Boot.
• Frontend experience with Angular or React using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices and event-driven concepts.
• Familiarity with messaging systems like Apache Kafka (produce/consume).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot.
• Build responsive frontend features using Angular or React.
• Build and maintain Kafka producers and consumers under guidance.
• Integrate backend APIs with frontend interfaces with guidance where needed.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate and fix bugs across backend, frontend and integrations.
• Support deployments and monitoring on Azure or AWS.
• Trace issues through logs and dashboards, including on-call rotation as needed.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers in Scrum or Kanban teams.
