EPAM Systems Inc in Malaysia is hiring Java Developers (Full Stack) to build backend features in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot and frontends in Angular or React. You will work on scoped features from the database to the user interface and learn from experienced engineers through code reviews and pairing.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers in Scrum or Kanban teams, and gain exposure to Azure or AWS deployments, Kafka messaging, and modern web technologies.

Competenze

• Proficiency in Java (or Kotlin) with Spring Boot.
• Frontend experience with Angular or React using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices and event-driven concepts.
• Familiarity with messaging systems like Apache Kafka (produce/consume).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot
• Build responsive, user-friendly frontend features using Angular or React
• Build and maintain Kafka producers and consumers for event-driven features, with guidance from senior engineers on design decisions
• Integrate backend APIs with frontend interfaces with guidance where needed
• Write clean, tested code and learn from code reviews
• Investigate and fix bugs across backend, frontend and integrations
• Support deployments and monitoring on Azure or AWS
• Trace issues through logs and dashboards, including on-call rotation as needed
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers in Scrum or Kanban teams

Requirements

• Working proficiency in Java (or Kotlin) with Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with Angular or React with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3
• Understanding of REST APIs, microservices and event-driven concepts
• Awareness of Apache Kafka or other messaging, including producing and consuming events
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS preferred), Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Basic use of logging and monitoring tools such as Datadog
• Working knowledge of asynchronous messaging and reliable message delivery, including retries, idempotent processing, and dead-letter handling
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB, CosmosDB)
• Unit-testing skills with JUnit, Mockito, Jest or Cypress
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows (GitHub/GitLab)
• Right to work in Malaysia (visa sponsorship is not available)
• Nice to have Kotlin in backend development
• Kubernetes, Helm or Terraform
• Secure coding and vulnerability remediation
• Legacy code migration, such as AngularJS to Angular or Java to Kotlin
