Job summary

Evonik Malaysia offers an 18‑month IT trainee program to provide comprehensive insights into IT within an international company. You will join a fully integrated IT team and contribute to exciting IT projects and processes.

You will be mentored by experienced IT professionals, gain exposure to Cyber Security, Cloud, and Data Analytics, and have opportunities for international assignments and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Degree in economics, computer science, AI, Big Data Technologies, Machine Learning, Robotics and Automation, Data Science (preferably a Master's).
• Initial IT experience through internships or working student activities.
• National and international mobility through initial experience abroad is a plus.
• Fluency in English; German language is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking with creative solutions.
• Entrepreneurial thinking and strong sense of responsibility.
• Open-mindedness and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through IT functions at Evonik Industries AG and learn the spectrum from Digitalization Strategy, Demand IT, IT Products and Delivery IT to Data & Analytics.
• Involvement in Cyber Security, Cloud, and Supply Chain Operations topics.
• Gain insight into operational business and the strategic side of IT.
• Support decision‑making committees and help prepare management reports.
• After a short time, take on independent tasks in IT projects.
• Work at different locations to build a Group-wide international network.
• Support Evonik’s digital transformation through various initiatives.
• Strengthen area of responsibility with mentoring from experienced managers and cross‑group collaboration.

What We Offer You

The time has finally come! Have you finished your studies or are you about to do so and are looking forward to contributing your acquired knowledge and creative ideas to our company? Then we have the ideal next step for you! Over a period of 18 months, you will gain a comprehensive insight into the IT of an international company at various locations and actively shape exciting IT projects and processes for Evonik as a fully‑fledged team member.

You will be supported by experienced colleagues from the IT community, consisting of around 1000 IT specialists. In addition, managers will mentor you and you will develop your technical and methodological skills on the job and off the job in workshops and seminars. You will have the opportunity to get involved in a project on social and sustainable topics. These activities will take place together with other Evonik trainees. You have an opportunity to stay abroad for international exposure. The trainee program offers you an entry into an IT career in the Evonik Group.

Responsibilities

• As part of your trainee program, you will be assigned to IT functions at Evonik Industries AG and get to know the spectrum from Digitalization Strategy, Demand IT, IT Products and Delivery IT to Data & Analytics.


• You will also have involvement in topics such as Cyber Security, Cloud, Supply Chain Operations.


• You will gain an insight into the operational business and get to know the strategic side of our IT


• You will accompany decision‑making committees and play an active role in the preparation of management reports


• After a short time, you will take on independent tasks in IT projects


• By working at different locations, business areas, and Group units, you will have the opportunity to get to know the Group intensively and build up a Group‑wide, international network


• You will support Evonik’s digital transformation by participating in various initiatives


• Your strengths will be further developed by customizing your area of responsibility


• You will receive mentoring from experienced managers and work together with other trainees in the Group on an interdisciplinary basis

Requirements

• You have completed a degree in economics or computer science, AI, Big Data Technologies, Machine Learning, Robotic and Automation, Data Science, (preferably a Master's degree) and would like to grow within an IT organization


• You have gained initial practical experience in IT, for example through internships or working student activities


• Ideally, you have already demonstrated your national and international mobility through initial experience abroad


• In addition to fluency in English, German language will be a plus.


• You have excellent analytical skills and can develop creative solutions


• Your strengths include entrepreneurial thinking and action as well as a strong sense of responsibility


• A high degree of open‑mindedness and strong communication skills round off your profile
