Are you someone who fixes the root cause, not just the problem?
We are looking for an IT & Operations Manager who can take ownership of our IT environment and continuously make it better.
This is not a purely IT support role.
You will oversee our IT infrastructure, business systems, internal IT support and external vendors, while ensuring that technology issues are properly resolved, risks are managed and recurring problems do not keep coming back.
You will also work closely with Management to identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better systems, automation, AI and digitalisation.
If you are technically strong, proactive and enjoy solving problems rather than waiting for instructions, we would like to meet you.
What You Will Be Responsible For IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Oversee network, Wi-Fi, cloud/server environment, hardware, email, cybersecurity, backups and other IT infrastructure.
- Ensure systems are stable, secure and properly maintained.
- Proactively identify potential IT risks and issues before they affect business operations.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and regular system health checks are carried out.
- Recommend upgrades and improvements where necessary.
- Manage and monitor internal IT support personnel and external IT vendors.
- Ensure IT issues are properly tracked, followed up and resolved.
- Set and monitor service standards, response times and vendor SLAs.
- Challenge recurring issues and ensure proper root-cause analysis is carried out.
- Review vendor quotations, contracts, renewals and service performance.
- Ensure vendors provide proactive and preventive support - not only react when something breaks.
Business Systems & Digitalisation
- Oversee the Company's key business systems and software platforms.
- Coordinate with software vendors, developers and internal departments.
- Manage system implementation, migration, integration and upgrade projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, AI and digitalisation.
- Recommend practical technology solutions that improve productivity and business efficiency.
IT Assets & Cost Management
- Manage IT hardware, software licences, subscriptions and technology assets.
- Monitor asset lifecycle, warranties and replacement requirements.
- Review IT expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure technology investments provide practical business value.
Projects, Cybersecurity & Risk
- Manage IT and operational improvement projects from planning to completion.
- Identify technology, cybersecurity and operational risks.
- Ensure appropriate backups, access controls, cybersecurity and contingency measures are maintained.
- Drive permanent solutions for recurring IT and operational problems.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
What We Are Looking For
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Operations Management or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant IT / systems / technology / operations experience.
- Experience managing or coordinating IT support personnel and external vendors.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud environments, hardware, software, cybersecurity and backup systems.
- Experience managing business systems and IT-related projects.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Good project and vendor management capabilities.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively with Management.
Experience working in an SME, entrepreneurial or fast-growing environment would be an added advantage.
You May Be a Good Fit If You...
- Take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- Naturally ask "Why does this keep happening?" when an issue repeats.
- Follow through until a problem is properly resolved.
- Are comfortable challenging vendors when service standards are not met.
- Can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues and Management.
- Look for practical ways to improve systems and processes.
- Are commercially minded and conscious of costs.
- Are curious about how AI, automation and technology can make the business more efficient.
- Can work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Why Join Us?
You will have the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of the Company's IT and operational environment rather than simply maintaining existing systems.
You will work directly with Management, have the opportunity to recommend and implement improvements, and play an important role in strengthening our technology infrastructure as the business continues to grow.
Salary: RM8,000 - RM10,000 per month, depending on experience and capabilities.
If you enjoy solving problems, improving systems and taking ownership, we would like to hear from you.
