An established multinational manufacturing organisation is seeking a hands‑on IT professional to oversee its technology operations in Malaysia.
This position combines infrastructure management, cybersecurity, user support and team supervision. The successful candidate will work closely with regional IT leadership to maintain secure, reliable and efficient technology services across the business.
Take ownership of daily IT operations, ensuring employees have dependable access to business systems, networks and technical support.
Maintain and improve infrastructure covering servers, data storage, network connectivity, workplace devices and data centre facilities.
Plan infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and capacity requirements to support operational needs.
Supervise helpdesk activities, monitor service standards and resolve escalated technical issues.
Administer user accounts, access permissions and authentication controls across internal systems.
Coordinate responses to major incidents and provide additional support during significant system disruptions when necessary.
Monitor endpoint protection tools, investigate suspicious activity and address cybersecurity threats.
Work with security monitoring platforms such as CrowdStrike and Vectra, or comparable enterprise protection tools.
Track technical issues and remediation activities through ticketing platforms such as JIRA.
Maintain information security controls in line with corporate requirements and ISO 27001 practices.
Support internal reviews, customer assessments, penetration testing and cybersecurity audits.
Ensure critical systems are backed up appropriately and conduct disaster recovery planning and testing.
Maintain accurate records of hardware, software licences, support agreements and technology assets.
Manage external service providers, maintenance renewals, infrastructure spending and vendor performance.
Guide and develop the local IT support team to maintain consistent service delivery.
Assist with infrastructure integration, system migrations and other regional technology initiatives.
Provide support for workplace security systems, including CCTV and electronic access controls.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
Approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, operations or information security.
Proven hands‑on experience working within a multinational company environment.
Strong knowledge of servers, networking, data storage, Active Directory and user‑support operations.
Experience with cybersecurity monitoring, endpoint protection, vulnerability management and patch deployment.
Familiarity with ISO 27001 security controls, compliance requirements and audit processes.
Exposure to endpoint detection and response platforms, security monitoring solutions and ticket‑management systems.
Experience managing backups, disaster recovery arrangements and business continuity measures.
Ability to supervise technical staff, coordinate vendors and manage operational priorities independently.
Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Manufacturing industry experience will be an added advantage.
