Job summary

Visible One Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to own technical operations, including cloud platforms, CI/CD, IaC, and security posture. You will lead the incident response, manage the support queue, and act as the final escalation point in production outages.

You will collaborate with development teams across GoLang, PHP/Laravel, Node.js, and Next.js stacks, while guiding architecture decisions and cost governance for global clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
• 2+ years at a senior/lead level owning production environments.
• Proficiency in Linux administration across major distributions.
• Production experience with two major clouds (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or GCP).

Visible One is a Hong Kong digital agency delivering high-impact web, branding, and marketing solutions for corporate, government, education, and NGO clients from all over the world.

The IT Manager serves as the owner of the critical technical operations layer underpinning our delivery work. This encompasses hosting environments, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and the company’s overall security and observability posture.

This is a hands-on, single-owner role. The successful candidate is expected to lead the technical support queue, act as the primary incident lead during production outages, and serve as the final technical escalation point. You will be the "voice of infrastructure" in client meetings, solution designs, and proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Server Operations

Own the Linux server estate, including control-panel managed shared hosting and unmanaged VPS/dedicated servers.

Manage provisioning, runtime/language-version lifecycles, and resource contention/abuse handling in multi-tenant environments.

Administer on-premise and colocated virtualization (VM/container lifecycle, storage, and capacity planning).

Operate corporate messaging, collaboration, and telephony services.

Maintain office IT hardware, network equipment, and storage appliances.

Manage workloads across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Alibaba Cloud (Compute, DB, Storage, Networking, CDN/WAF).

Act as Cloud Architect: produce architecture diagrams, migration plans, and written proposals for stakeholders.

Oversee cloud cost governance, including rightsizing, reserved instances, and billing reviews.

Enforce identity hygiene (least-privilege IAM, MFA, and key rotation).

Build and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, ACK) and self-hosted container workloads.

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and Git platforms.

Drive GitOps practices using Argo CD or Flux, with Helm or Kustomize.

Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.

Support development teams across GoLang, Python, PHP/Laravel, Node.js, and Next.js/React stacks.

Evaluate and establish secure deployment frameworks for AI-assisted engineering instruments, with particular emphasis on Model Context Protocol (MCP) server tool invocation methodologies and their strategic advantages within Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Large Language Model (LLM) architectures.

Incident Response & Support Leadership

Lead the technical support ticket queue, managing triage, prioritization, and SLA tracking.

Act as Incident Lead for production outages: coordinate responders and own client communication.

Provide response for urgent, high-pressure situations, including out-of-hours and public holiday incidents.

Develop and maintain runbooks to standardize recurring incident resolution.

Security, Compliance & Observability

Own the security baseline: server hardening, patch management, and access controls.

Manage secrets via dedicated platforms; eliminate plaintext credentials from repositories.

Ensure data handling meets Hong Kong PDPO requirements and manage penetration-test remediations.

Run a modern observability stack (metrics, dashboards, log aggregation) with actionable alerting.

Execute a 3-2-1 backup strategy and conduct scheduled restore drills.

Serve as the infrastructure escalation contact for clients.

Produce solution designs, bills of materials, and cost estimates for proposals and RFPs.

Manage vendors for hosting, telecom, cloud, and hardware, including renewals and service contracts.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

5+ years in systems, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.

2+ years at a senior or lead level owning production environments.

Proficiency in Linux administration (command-line fluency across major distributions).

Production experience with at least two major clouds (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or GCP).

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and managed services (EKS/AKS/ACK).

Proficiency in Terraform and/or Ansible.

Experience with web application operations (PHP/Laravel, Node.js, Next.js) and CMS platforms.

Professional English (written and spoken). Cantonese is a strong advantage for client/vendor relations.

Experience in a digital agency or Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.

On-premise virtualization and hybrid-cloud operation at scale.

Experience with Hong Kong public-sector or institutional procurement/tenders.

Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA/RHCE, CKA/CKS, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect).
