Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years IT management experience leading teams and complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of PMS, POS, and hospitality tech solutions.
• Expertise in network admin, security, cloud and infra management.
• Experience in cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance (GDPR/PDPA).
• Proficiency with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to join Iconic Marjorie Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the hotel's information technology infrastructure, systems, and operations. As IT Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our technology systems support the seamless delivery of exceptional guest experiences whilst maintaining the efficiency and security of all digital operations across the hotel. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic technology function within a prestigious hospitality environment, where you will drive digital innovation and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, systems, and networks to ensure reliable performance and minimal downtime

Manage and support the hotel's property management system, point-of-sale systems, and other critical guest-facing technology platforms

Lead the IT team, providing technical direction, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of service delivery

Develop and implement IT security protocols, cybersecurity measures, and data protection policies to safeguard guest information and hotel operations

Manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships to optimise costs whilst maintaining system quality and performance

Conduct regular system audits and performance monitoring to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions

Provide strategic technology recommendations to senior management to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency

Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards applicable to the hospitality sector

Respond to and resolve IT incidents and technical issues in a timely manner to minimise disruption to hotel operations

Plan and execute technology upgrades, migrations, and implementations with minimal impact on daily operations

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum 5-7 years of IT management experience, with proven track record of leading IT teams and managing complex IT environments

Strong knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, and hospitality technology solutions

Expertise in network administration, system security, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure management

Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance management (GDPR, PDPA, or similar standards)

Proficiency with IT service management tools and ticketing systems

Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills across multiple platforms and systems

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ITIL, Microsoft Certified Associate, or equivalent are highly desirable

Experience in the hospitality industry or luxury hotel sector is advantageous
