Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of teaching and/or industry experience in IT, programming, or AI-related fields
• Experience in teaching programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or Java
• Familiarity with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and academic quality standards (e.g., MQA) is an advantage

Job description

Responsibilities

The Full-Time IT Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Information Technology and Mathematics subjects, with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), data-driven technologies, and programming. The lecturer will contribute to curriculum development, student learning, and academic excellence while supporting the School of Engineering’s initiatives in AI adoption and digital transformation.

This role is expected to teach and integrate cross-disciplinary subjects, including:

• Database Management
• Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
• Discrete Mathematics
• Statistics
• Programming (Python, C, C++, Java)

• Teaching and Instruction
• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for IT and Mathematics subjects
• Teach programming courses using Python, C, C++, and Java, including hands-on lab exercises
• Deliver AI-related modules such as Introduction to AI and Data Science with practical applications
• Teach mathematical concepts such as Discrete Mathematics and Statistics with relevance to computing and engineering
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and learning resources aligned with programme outcomes
• Apply Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles in teaching delivery and assessment
• Integrate real-world applications, especially in AI, automation, and data analytics.
• Academic Support
• Provide academic consultation and mentorship to students
• Support students in projects, assignments, and research related to AI, programming, and data analytics
• Encourage student innovation, problem-solving, and independent learning
• Foster an engaging, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Design, administer, and evaluate assessments such as assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations
• Ensure assessment methods align with Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to improve student performance
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and academic results.
• Professional Development:
• Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, data science, programming, and digital technologies.
• Participate in academic training, certification, and professional development activities.
• Contribute to curriculum review, accreditation (e.g., MQA), and quality assurance processes.
• Administrative Duties:
• Attend departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and development of the Diploma in IT program.
• Involve in student recruitment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of teaching and/or industry experience in IT, programming, or AI-related fields
• Experience in teaching programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or Java
• Experience in AI, data science, or database-related projects is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and academic quality standards (e.g., MQA) is an advantage.

Skills

• Strong knowledge in programming, database systems, AI fundamentals, and data analytics
