Unigen Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking an IT Infrastructure Staff Engineer to design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infra, server and cloud environments, and security protocols. You will serve as escalation point during outages to restore services quickly.
The role requires 6+ years in IT infrastructure, strong networking, platform administration (Windows/Linux), and hands‑on experience with Cisco and Ubiquiti technologies, VMware/Hyper‑V, AWS and Google Cloud.
IT Infrastructure Staff Engineer role responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, server and cloud environments, and security protocols. This position serves as the definitive escalation point during severe outages, driving rapid troubleshooting and infrastructure service restoration with top priority to minimize business impact.
Design, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, load balancing solutions and comprehensive wireless networks management, with emphasis on managing Ubiquiti infrastructure and controllers
Oversee administration, provisioning, and lifecycle management of physical hardware, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud environments (AWS, Google), encompassing both Windows and Linux operating systems
Implement, audit, and manage strict security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and zero-trust architectures
Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate deployments and system monitoring
Architect and test robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans while ensuring infrastructure complies with industry security standards
Act as the definitive escalation point during severe outages, driving rapid troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and IT infrastructure service restoration
Lead end-to‑end infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives, managing system upgrades, technology rollouts, and strategic optimizations
Oversee design, installation, integration, and lifecycle maintenance of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, specifically focusing on enterprise IP CCTV, video management systems (VMS), and physical access control systems
6+ years of progressive, hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure engineering, network architecture, and systems administration in high‑uptime, mission‑critical environments
Proven capability in managing cross‑functional IT projects, infrastructure expansions, and continuous process improvement methodologies (ITIL, PMP, or Agile experience is a plus)
Proven track record of operating effectively under pressure, with a strong operational urgency mindset to resolve line down issues efficiently
Deep operational understanding of advanced networking protocols, enterprise hardware (specifically Cisco), and extensive experience in Wi‑Fi management, particularly with Ubiquiti networks and deployment
Advanced skills in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory and Google Workspace
Proven ability to harden infrastructure against emerging threats, manage endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, and configure enterprise firewalls (Fortinet)
Relevant industry credentials (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, Google Workspace Administrator, ITIL) are strongly preferred
