Farben Information Technology is seeking an IT Engineer (IT Operations & Network) for Johor Bahru. The role is fully onsite with 24/7 rotating shifts, averaging about 42 hours per week, supporting data center operations and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities include server hardware installation, troubleshooting across Windows, Linux, and Unix, and managing switches, fiber, and cabling. 2 years IDC data center experience and CCNA are preferred; relocation/visa not provided.

About the Client
Our client is a technology and operations solutions company supporting large-scale infrastructure, enterprise systems, and digital operations across Asia. The IT Engineer will support data center operations and network infrastructure at their Johor Bahru site.

Location: Johor Bahru only, fully onsite. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not provided.

Schedule: 24/7 rotating shift, 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM), 2 days on and 2 days off, about 42 hours per week on average.

Responsibilities

Ensure operational readiness of data center infrastructure, including servers, network switches, and power systems.

Install and troubleshoot server hardware across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.

Diagnose and resolve switch and network-related issues.

Manage fiber optic and structured cabling.

Respond to operational incidents, follow SOPs, and document and escalates issues.

Perform routine checks, monitoring, and maintenance in line with SLA requirements.

Must-Haves

2 years Hands-on experience in an IDC or enterprise data center environment. Server rooms in offices, BPO sites, factories, or telecom tower sites do not count.

Working knowledge of server hardware, network switches, and fiber and structured cabling.

Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.

Willing to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule onsite in Johor Bahru.

Legally authorized to work in Malaysia.

Nice-to-Haves

Networking certification such as CCNA, or an IT-related diploma or degree.

Experience with ticketing and ITSM tools.
