Combi-Pack Sdn Bhd is seeking a Digital Transformation Manager to oversee SAP implementation, ERP transformation, and the IT infrastructure supporting two manufacturing plants in Malaysia. The role focuses on business process digitalisation, IT governance, data quality, and production reporting to enable a unified, accurate source of management information.
You will collaborate with management, SAP partners, and shop-floor users to design future-state processes, drive adoption, and ensure
1. SAP Implementation & ERP Transformation
Act as TPAC Malaysia's key internal coordinator for the planned SAP implementation.
Work closely with Group Management, business functions, SAP implementation partners and external consultants.
Understand and document existing business processes across both plants.
Support business process mapping, gap analysis and future-state process design.
Coordinate requirements across key SAP areas including:
Finance & Controlling
Procurement
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Production Planning
Manufacturing
Quality
Maintenance
Support master-data preparation, cleansing and migration.
Coordinate user acceptance testing, cutover and go-live activities.
Ensure proper integration between SAP and other plant/business systems.
Coordinate end-user training and post-go-live support.
Drive user adoption and ensure that teams use the ERP system correctly rather than developing parallel manual processes.
2. Business Process Digitalisation
Priority areas should include:
Production reporting and visibility
Inventory and material traceability
Production planning
Warehouse management
Quality documentation
Maintenance management
Sales and customer information
Management reporting
Reduction of Excel/manual processes
KPI dashboards and analytics
3. Manufacturing IT
Develop a strong understanding of the IT requirements of both manufacturing plants.
Support plant-floor systems and connectivity.
Ensure reliable IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.
Work with Operations and Engineering on integration between machines, production systems and ERP where appropriate.
Support barcode, scanning, labelling and traceability solutions.
Explore appropriate Industry 4.0 / IoT initiatives where there is a clear business case.
Improve real-time visibility of production performance, downtime, waste and productivity.
Ensure critical manufacturing IT systems have appropriate backup and recovery arrangements.
4. IT Infrastructure & Operations
Network and internet connectivity
Servers and cloud services

5. Cybersecurity & Data Protection
Establish and maintain appropriate cybersecurity standards across both plants.
Manage user access, permissions and identity controls.
Ensure timely patching, antivirus/endpoint protection and system updates.
Implement appropriate backup and disaster-recovery processes.
Conduct periodic cybersecurity reviews and vulnerability assessments.
Promote cybersecurity awareness among employees.
Establish policies covering passwords, data access, acceptable IT use, external devices and information security.
Ensure appropriate protection of company, employee, supplier and customer data.
6. Data, Reporting & Management Information
The role should help TPAC move towards one reliable source of business information.
Improve data quality and ownership across departments.
Reduce duplicate databases and uncontrolled spreadsheets.
Develop dashboards and management reporting using appropriate BI tools.
Work with Management to establish automated reporting of key business KPIs.
Ensure information generated from SAP and other systems is accurate, timely and actionable.
Manage SAP implementation partners and other IT vendors.
Evaluate technical proposals and commercial quotations.
Establish clear project scope, deliverables, timelines and responsibilities.
Monitor implementation progress and escalated delays or risks.
Ensure TPAC develops sufficient internal knowledge and does not become unnecessarily dependent on external vendors.
8. IT Governance
Develop and maintain appropriate IT policies and controls covering:
User access
Software licensing
Hardware allocation
Cybersecurity
Backup and recovery
IT procurement
System changes
Business continuity
Key Business Expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Spend sufficient time at plants and understand their actual operating processes.
Engage with users on the shop floor as well as management.
Challenge inefficient manual processes and propose practical alternatives.
Translate business requirements into technology solutions.
Take ownership rather than simply coordinating vendors.
Ensure SAP becomes a business transformation project rather than only an IT implementation.
Deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, visibility, controls and decision-making.
Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
SAP/ERP, project management or cybersecurity certifications would be advantageous.
Experience
Approximately 8–12+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably within manufacturing.
Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites is strongly preferred.
Hands-on involvement in at least one full ERP/SAP implementation or major ERP transformation.
Good understanding of manufacturing business processes.
Experience working with SAP implementation partners or ERP vendors.
Experience managing IT infrastructure, networks, systems and cybersecurity.
Exposure to BI, analytics, manufacturing systems or Industry 4.0 initiatives would be advantageous
