Job summary

NP Digital is seeking a Content Intern to support day-to-day content production and maintenance from its Kuala Lumpur office. You will help draft, edit, and refine content, ensuring brand voice and accuracy while working in hybrid AI + human workflows.

You’ll learn content planning, writing, and publishing processes, applying editorial standards to improve clarity and conversion, and gain exposure to AI tools and SEO basics. Malaysia residency is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in English-related studies.
• Interest in generative AI tools and ability to interact with AI for quality output.
• Strong command of written English with clear grammar and style; Malay is a plus.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a newly created role to support our growing team.

We’re looking for a Content Intern to support day-to-day content writing production and maintenance. You’ll help write and refine content, tighten structure and messaging, and keep our content library clean, current, and useful. Crucially, you will act as the \"human-in-the-loop\", navigating advanced AI tools to scale our output without sacrificing quality, brand voice, or factual accuracy.

You’ll learn how content teams plan, write, edit, and publish at pace, while applying content frameworks and editorial standards to improve clarity and conversion. You’ll work with advanced AI tools like Writesonic, build a portfolio of human-written and AI-assisted content, and develop a foundational understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) process information.

You’ll work in hybrid “AI + human” workflows to produce high-quality content efficiently, develop advanced prompting skills for professional use, and gain exposure to AEO strategy, including how content appears in AI Overviews and chat-based search platforms such as Perplexity and Gemini.

To be considered, candidates must currently reside and be eligible to work in Malaysia.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• AI-Assisted Drafting: Use advanced AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT Research Mode, Jasper, or Claude) to generate first drafts, social snippets, and content outlines


• Prompt Engineering: Develop and refine prompts to ensure AI outputs align with specific brand guidelines and project briefs


• Content Refinement: Take AI-generated \"raw\" text and transform it into polished, high-converting content through heavy editing and \"humanizing.\"


• Proofreading & editing: Correct grammar, clarity, flow, and consistency; improve readability and tone while keeping the original intent


• Content frameworks & structuring: Turn rough ideas into clear outlines, apply content frameworks and ensure logical flow


• Basic SEO support: Help with headings, internal links, metadata drafts, keyword placement (without keyword stuffing), and on-page formatting


• Quality checks: Ensure content aligns with brand voice, style guidelines, and basic fact-checking requirements


• Content ops support: Maintain simple trackers (content pipeline, revision logs), coordinate versioning, and keep files organised

ABOUT YOU

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in English Studies, English Language, Literature, Communications, Journalism, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent writing/editing experience).


• AI Literacy: A strong interest in (or basic experience with) generative AI tools. You should be comfortable \"talking\" to AI to get the best results.


• Strong Editorial Instincts: You can spot \"hallucinated\" info or awkward, repetitive AI phrasing quickly.


• Strong written English with good grammar and clarity. Malay proficiency is a plus.


• Ability to follow briefs, brand tone, and formatting guidelines.


• Comfortable receiving feedback and applying revisions efficiently.


• Reliable, organised, and able to manage multiple small tasks in parallel.


• Comfortable using Microsoft tools (especially Word + Track Changes, Teams, and basic Excel) (or willing to learn fast).
