Job summary

Radical Internetwork Sdn Bhd invites you to join as Network & IT Infrastructure Intern in Penang. You will gain hands-on exposure to copper and fibre optic networks, testing, and documentation in data centre projects.

You will work under experienced technicians, assisting with cable termination, splicing, testing, installation of patch panels and switches, and preparing technical reports. Placement offers practical skills and industry insight.

Qualifications

• This internship seeks a student pursuing a Diploma or Degree in IT/Networking or related field.
• Candidate should be interested in hands-on network infrastructure and fibre optic technology.
• Basic knowledge of networking or IT infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in copper network cable termination and preparation.
• Learn and assist in fibre optic cable preparation and splicing under supervision.
• Assist in testing and troubleshooting copper and fibre optic connections.
• Support installation and setup of network equipment including patch panels and switches.
• Assist in conducting network connectivity tests and fibre optic testing.
• Learn to operate tools and testing equipment used in network infrastructure activities.

About the Role

Radical Internetwork Sdn Bhd is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Network & IT Infrastructure Intern to join our technical team. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to network infrastructure, cable termination, fibre optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting in IT infrastructure and Data Centre project environments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in copper network cable termination and preparation.

Learn and assist in fibre optic cable preparation and splicing under the supervision of experienced technicians.

Assist in testing and troubleshooting copper and fibre optic connections.

Support the installation and setup of network equipment, including patch panels, network switches, and related infrastructure components.

Assist in conducting network connectivity tests and fibre optic testing.

Learn to operate relevant tools and testing equipment used in network infrastructure activities.

Assist in preparing technical reports, test results, and project documentation.

Support technical troubleshooting and rectification activities related to network infrastructure.

Follow company procedures, site safety requirements, and instructions from the assigned supervisor.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Electronic Engineering (Computer), Electronic Engineering (Communication), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.

Interested in hands‑on technical work involving network infrastructure and fibre optic technology.

Basic knowledge of networking, cabling, or IT infrastructure is an advantage.

Willing to learn new technical skills and work under the guidance of experienced technicians.

Able to work at project sites when required.

Responsible, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
