Job summary

GPL Group of Companies (Sabah) is seeking an internal audit professional to lead and execute audit assignments. You will assist in planning audits, develop audit programs, perform fieldwork, and document controls.

The role includes risk assessment, ad hoc investigations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will prepare audit work papers, plan multiple tasks, and contribute to the annual internal audit plan while upholding the company’s reputation and policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit assignments with the audit team.

• Identify and assess significant risk areas and propose corrective measures to strengthen internal controls and policies.
• Conduct ad hoc investigations/spot-checks into identified events or risks.
• Evaluate documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare clear audit work papers within deadlines.
• Plan and organize work, manage multiple tasks, and re-prioritize as needed.
• Compile and implement the annual internal audit plan.
• Maintain reputation through professional interactions and adherence to policy.

Professional Certificate

Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma

Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent

Job description

1. Leading audit team through assignments.

2. Assist in planning audits, developing audit programs, and performing audit field work, including process documentation and control evaluations.

3. Identify and assess areas of significant risk, propose or evaluate corrective measures designed to strengthen/ reduce internal controls/risk, operational policies and procedures, and other weaknesses identified in audits.

4. Conduct ad hoc investigations/ spot-check into identified events or reported risks.

5. Evaluate documents for accuracy and compliance with federal/state regulations.

6. Prepare clear and concise audit work papers within prescribed timeframes.

7. Plan and organize work, manage multiple tasks, set objectives/goals, and re-prioritize as needed.

8. Compile and implement the annual internal audit plan.

9. Take into account reputation at all times, through positive interactions and following policy and process.

10. perform any duties and responsibilities as and when required.

Qualification: -

Possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.

Required language(s): Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Candidates with working experience will be an advantage.

Willing to go outstation as necessary
